Solace

In an increasingly busy and uncertain world, Solace brings together the work of three London-based artists whose practices explore the many ways we seek comfort, connection and meaning. Through painting, ceramics and abstraction, this exhibition reflects on the places, objects and experiences that sustain us through life's moments of beauty, change, loss and renewal.

Solace can be found in many forms: the restorative power of nature, the comfort of a cherished object, in the memories we carry, or in the stillness that emerges when we slow down and pay attention. While each artist approaches the theme from a distinct perspective, their work is united by a shared exploration of what it means to find refuge amidst the complexities of being human.

Simone Russell
Inspired by the Romantic tradition and the sublime beauty of nature, her atmospheric landscape paintings evoke both wonder and reflection. Through luminous layers of colour and texture, her work invites viewers to reconnect with memories, emotions and the timeless experience of finding peace in the natural world.

Sofia Sullivan
Hand-built ceramic vessels embody a dialogue between maker and material, preserving moments of intuition, presence and relationship. Alongside her decorative and functional ceramics, her deeply personal cremation urns offer spaces for remembrance and healing. These tactile vessels hold not only ashes, but stories, memories and enduring bonds of love, creating comfort during times of grief and transition.

Anna F Macdonald
Minimalist abstract paintings explore the quiet power of space, drawing on the Japanese concept of Ma (space between objects) and the beauty of reduction. By removing the unnecessary and focusing on the essential, her work creates room for contemplation, inviting viewers to pause and experience the calm that can be found in stillness.

The exhibition will be available to view daily from 10 am - 6 pm, with the exception of the Sunday, when the gallery will be open 11 am - 5 pm.
