The Rock & Paper Launch

Rock & Paper Collective

08 July - 14 July 2026

Rock & Paper Collective presents its first solo exhibition at JM Gallery, Portobello, London — a week-long exhibition bringing together painting, photography and ceramics in a celebration of colour, texture and the natural world.

The collective was formed by three West London artists — painter Celia Pickering, photographer Anna Booth and ceramicist Roz Wallis — whose work connects through a shared interest in surface, form and organic beauty. Though working across different mediums, their practices naturally complement one another. Rock & Paper Collective is rooted in collaboration, friendship and the belief that artists are stronger together than alone.

Anna’s work captures fragments of the world around her, exploring texture, pattern, and the juxtaposition of colour through her lens. Anna derives pleasure from taking an image of an ordinary object so it transcends its humble origins.

Celia's art draws inspiration from retro floral textiles, vintage and mid-century aesthetics, alongside the world around her. She aims to bring joy and colour into peoples' homes, allowing their memories to surface, offering them their own comfort and sense of nostalgia.

Roz's ceramic work explores texture, form, and surface through both traditional and experimental ceramic processes. Her work ranges from functional vessels to large sculptural moon jars and draws on abstraction, landscape and the expressive potential of clay.

Before moving fully into the arts, the three artists worked across healthcare, business and the creative industries, experiences that continue to shape their work and approach to collaboration. This debut exhibition brings together bold floral paintings, intimate photographic studies and expressive ceramic forms in a rich and immersive conversation between paint, image and clay.

The PV will take place on 09 July from 6.30 pm until 9 pm.
