The Sound of Silence
Mee Mee Chai
06 August - 12 August 2025

Mee Mee Chai’s 2025 solo art exhibition 'The Sound of Silence' offers a moment of quiet in a world that rarely pauses. 'The Sound of Silence' explores the space between sound and stillness—between solitude and connection. Each painting, with its soft colours and gentle animal forms, is a quiet meditation. A whisper. A prayer. Here, silence is not emptiness. It is presence. It is where love breathes, peace settles, and hope quietly grows.
Inspired in part by the haunting beauty of the song, 'The Sound of Silence' sees silence not as sorrow, but as strength. Wait with quiet dignity—offering calm and companionship in a noisy, overwhelmed world. May these paintings invite you into stillness—not to escape, but to return more whole, more kind, and more awake.
Mee Mee Chai (also known as Miuko) is a London-based, self-taught artist with a background in commercial art and interior design. Working with ink, acrylic, and oil on wood, canvas, and paper, her art blends elements of fantasy and realism, often inspired by personal memories, faith, and emotion. Her recent work embraces a more minimal and abstract style—using bold silhouettes, soft contrasts, and negative space to evoke stillness, curiosity, and presence.
Mee Mee is also the author of Handwritten and The Stories in Paintings, two reflective collections of drawings and writings exploring relationships, creativity, and the inner journey. Her work is held in private collections around the world.
The exhibition will be open daily from 11 am to 7 pm and a PV will take place on 08 August from 6 pm - 9 pm. Please email admin@j-m.gallery or mee2chai@yahoo.com to RSVP.
